Fire District No. 1 of the Township of Riverside is a political subdivision of the Township of Riverside, Burlington County, New Jersey. It was formed through the adoption of a Township ordinance. A board of five Commissioners oversees all operations of the Fire District. The length of each commissioner’s term is three years with the annual election held the third Saturday of February.
Fire Districts are governed by N.J.S.A.40A: 14-70 et al. and are organized as a taxing authority, charged with the responsibility of providing the resources necessary to provide firefighting services to the residents within its territorial location. Fire District No. 1 of the Township of Riverside has one fire company within its jurisdiction.
